Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Hinted (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by DanielsApps (danielsapps.com), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website at hintedgame.com and our mobile application (together, the “Service”).

Information you provide

• Account data. When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name through our authentication provider (Clerk).
• Payment data. Subscription purchases are processed by Stripe (web) or Apple (iOS). We do not store your full payment card details. We receive transaction identifiers and subscription status from these providers.

Information collected automatically

• Game data. Puzzle attempts, scores, streaks, and league participation are stored to power gameplay features.
• Device and usage data. We may collect browser type, operating system, IP address, and general usage patterns to maintain and improve the Service.

• Provide and maintain the Service, including syncing progress across devices.
• Process subscriptions and manage entitlements.
• Send transactional emails (e.g., purchase confirmations, account security).
• Diagnose technical issues and improve the Service.
• Enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information.

The free version of the Hinted mobile app displays ads provided by Google AdMob. To support advertising, AdMob may collect and use certain data including device identifiers, IP address, and general usage information to serve relevant ads.

Personalized vs. non-personalized ads

On iOS, we request your permission to track activity across other apps and websites via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. If you grant permission, AdMob may serve personalized ads based on your interests. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.

Opting out

• Remove ads entirely. Subscribe to Hinted Pass to remove all advertisements.
• Disable personalized ads.Deny tracking when prompted, or go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on your iOS device.

We use the following services that may process your data:

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Stripe — web payment processing.
• Apple App Store — iOS payment processing.
• Vercel — hosting and infrastructure.
• Neon — database hosting.
• Google AdMob — advertising in the free mobile app.

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data required for each service to function.

We retain your account and game data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or to resolve disputes.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication tokens, and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Request a portable copy of your data.

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
